Collection 2 of our textbook, Florida Collections, dealt with the differences in perception and reality. Hence, the prompt for the first PBPA was to explain the difference between the two, using the reading passages provided. This week, we have been going over what the prompt was asking them to do, and rewriting the essay. In order to reinforce the difference between perception and reality using music literacy, students watched the video below.

SRI - We wrapped up taking the SRI test last week. If you were able to test, I have already spoken with you privately about your lexile level.
Your Lexile level is the grade level you are reading on. Everyone should be on an 7th grade or higher reading level. If you are not, don't panic, it just means we have something to work on this year.

8/26/15-8/27/15 is PBPA (Palm Beach Performance Assessment) testing. The PBPA is used to assess students writing. This year, students will be taking 4 PBPA's. Two on an informative essay, and two on an argumentative essay. The one taken this week, is an informative essay.
9/16/15-9/17/15 FSQ 1 - This tests the students on the skills they have learned over the last month. Please look under the notes section, to see the PowerPoints that have been reviewed in class.
9/28-10/30 FAIR Testing (continued through rotations the remainder of the month)
10/1/15-10/2-15 PBPA 2 Argumentative Essay
10/16/15 - Vocabulary Comprehension Check
10/28-10/29 USA Testing (computerized) This test is similar to the FSQ that was given last month. It will assess the same standards. This test is longer, consisting of 25 questions covering 2 passages.
